Senior Business Analyst


Full Time

As a Senior Business Analyst at Fastloop, you will play a critical role in understanding client business objectives and processes, while eliciting, conceptualising, analysing, and documenting requirements; and how they translate into functional & technical requirements and analytical specifications for various solutions that will meet the needs of the client and their business strategy. 

You will have a sense of ownership for customers, projects and technical solutions (platforms, systems, infrastructure, etc.), balance business opportunities, strategies and analytics to efficiently meet project, business and customer goals and continue to drive customer satisfaction

The Senior Business Analyst’s responsibilities involve developing new business strategies and models, communicating to management on how these strategies and models will enhance business efficiency, and creating reports on the performance of the business. You should also be able to utilise these reports to identify business areas in need of improvement.

General responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Understand business strategy, objectives and processes that will be enabled and/or enhanced by an analytics solution
  • Meet with requirements stakeholders (decision makers, systems owners, and/or end users) to elicit, analyze and document functional and non-functional requirements
  • Create BA design documents related to projects and understanding how the design will be used in the development process; including requirements documents, current and future state process flows, entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), data flow diagrams, source-to-target mappings and/or other documents based on the need of the project
  • Retrieve and analyse data across SQL servers, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Excel/CSV, and other data management systems
  • Conduct data analysis to validate business processes and guide requirements accordingly
  • Proactively identify and address impacted business processes and/or operational activities by engaging the necessary stakeholders
  • Ability to conduct brainstorming, whiteboarding, use-case prioritisation & requirements gathering workshops with client stakeholders
  • Act as a liaison between business, development and data teams. 
  • Translate the requirements into functional specs that can be leveraged by developers and QA team members for their respective deliverables
  • Provide an articulation of value proposition, business value add & benefits of the proposed approach / solution
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to conceptualise and develop new applications, reports and dashboards. 
  • Lead walkthrough meetings and provide regular updates on project status, including raising risks, issues and impediments in a timely manner
  • Respond proactively to both business and project issues; take ownership of risks, issues and impediments as appropriate to resolve them in a timely manner
  • Manage relationship with project stakeholders – both business and technology; be the trusted advisor, 
  • Support change management activities during deployment and conduct internal training sessions to assist in the transition of new systems and processes.
  • Research & explore best in class tools and technologies that will continue to benefit Business Analytics and drive Fastloop forward. 
  • Develop solutions recommendations in the areas of cloud, marketing, loyalty, ecommerce, & analytics,
  • Assist in training and mentoring of junior employees interested in growing within this area of expertise.

What You’ll Need to Succeed


  • 5+ years of experience in a business or solution analyst role;
  • 5+ years of experience in solution planning and/or technology enabled business transformation, planning, evaluation and adoption;
  • 5+ years of experience in consulting with experience in external client-facing projects, business analysis, and diverse industries exposure
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytical, quantitative, and qualitative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, especially around breaking down complex ideas and solutions into digestible and relevant points for a diverse set of clients and colleagues
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with strong attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated experience and interest in the topics of data, cloud, or advanced analytics for business enablement. 
  • Structured problem-solving skills and logical thinking, as well as ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
  • Able to work in highly flexible, fast paced environment; and,  
  • Passion for technology, business, customer experience, innovation, and digital solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence platform such as Looker, Power BI, Tableau and basic analytical programming and querying skills e.g. SQL, Python, R. 
  • Previously demonstrated ability to drive change within a business (e.g. Internal innovation projects, consulting projects)


  • Experience with Training and Adoption Practices
  • Experience with Google Cloud, Azure, or Amazon Web Services  
  • Experience in Data Governance initiatives 
  • Experience in Media, Marketing, Operations or Loyalty (CDPs, Loyalty Platforms, DMPs);
  • Completed Undergraduate degree in a related field; and any recognized professional certifications would be an asset;
